Thursday Thirteen #77 Multiple Edition

Greetings, Kittens!

I've had a lot of multitasking over the last few days and will have more over the next week. I also wrote two articles on polyamory, a topic that certainly deals with multitasking! I decided to combine them and find poly words and tell you the multiples they deal with. So here you are, 13 Polys!

Enjoy.

Interesting post, Xakara! The word "polyandrist" surfaced in the book I am reading just last night.

So.... does that mean Polyticks is multiple vermin?

It feels that way sometimes, doesn't it?

Great Thursday 13. Every time I see the word "polyglot" I can't help think of the joke from Tortilla Soup:

"What do you call someone who speaks three or more languages?"
'A polyglot.'

"What do you call someone who speaks two languages?"
'Bilingual.'

"What do you call someone who speaks only one language?"
'American.'

Lots of polys

Interesting post. I like to look at words too. I guess it comes from being writers. :) Thanks for sharing.

I think it comes from being writers as well. There's just something about words, the shape and sound and feel, that draws you in even when you don't use them. :)

Wow, I thoroughly enjoyed learning all these new words, I'll have to make a note of some of them and maybe use them in a story or two :)

Happy Thursday!

So that's why they call polyunsaturates what they call it. Meaning several. Love the origami photo.

[identity profile] xakara.livejournal.com 2011-08-12 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep, polyunsaturates have multiple double-bonded carbon in the molecule.
