Something in the Blood...

I'm already suffering Henry and Vicki withdrawal as Blood Ties looks for a new home, and now they don't want to commit to renewing Moonlight? I admit to only seeing a handful of episodes (once he finally bit Beth, I was hooked), but now that I've been getting my vampire on regular-like, they can't just skip out on me! There's cruel and unusual punishment not to mention "pursuit of happiness" violations going on here.

So here's my part in spreading the word and making sure at least one vampire finds a home next season.

And this one is just to help others get their vampire on a bit. It's a fan vid of Blood Ties, Moonlight, and Forever Knight that I particularly like. Kristin did a great job.

Cool. Thanks for reposting.

And I feel silly. I didn't know you watched the show. I've posted Moonlight related things here and there but filter them to friends I know who watch, so not to bother peeps who don't care. I'll add you to the filter.

I've watched it for a bit now. I don't remember what the initial scheduling conflict was but I was able to start catching up once the other show went into reruns.

Maybe vampires are like fairies, if we wish and clap hard enough they'll live for another season. *Wink*

I make this priomise, if CBS does keep the show I will watch. The vid has peeked my interest. I watch no TV at all right now, but a show like this would certainly be up my ally.

There are so many things we need to get you a glimpse of next season. I'll keep my fingers crossed and both vampire shows and a few others. :)

I thought that they weren't being aired due to the Writer's Strike that was going on. I had no idea. I've been watching both shows since they first aired.

Blood Ties is written by Canadian writers so the strike didn't affect them. It was Lifetime not choosing to renew it that causes its last to episodes not to air. They are available online but that's all. Right now they are looking for another network to pick up the show so it can come back for it's second season. (Lifetime took the first 26 episode season and broke it up into two, but as far as the Canadian producers are concerned only one season has been produced).

I'm not sure about Moonlight's numbers. I think this is just a case of CBS screwing up as usual. They aren't as bad as FOX but they definitely aren't much better.

I want Henry back too so fingers crossed that another network takes them on and of course I love Moonlight. I want my vampires so I'm trying to do my part in keeping this show going and I wish a regular network would pick up Blood Ties since I always thought that Lifetime was an odd home for it.

As far as I can tell, picking up Blood Ties was supposed to be part of Lifetime changing its image, but I guess it didn't pull the numbers to prove it was doing that.

However the fan response appears to show a true following and both the Canadian producers and certain American industry folk seem to think it'll find a new home before the fall seasons are announced (even if it only comes out as a mid-season replacement). Here's hoping. I think it could excel on the Sci-fi channel, or even USA network.

Since Lifetime is a chick channel I wouldn't be surprised if most of the viewers were female. I'm a fan of Tanya so of course I had to check the show out. It seemed the same with Blade since it was on Spike. I don't care what station it's on as long as it comes back.
