Crush of the Week
Dec. 7th, 2007 08:00 pmHappy Friday Lovelies,
I'm a bit behind and couldn't get all of the pictures I want to use to load, but I decided to go ahead with today's crush just because he was on my mind. Besides, when you can go from the Prince of Darkness to the King of Middle Earth, four pictures is more than enough. Yes, you guessed it Lovelies, this Friday's Crush of the Week is Viggo Mortensen.
As always, come on in if he's your thing, but if not, come on by next week and see if there's someone more to your liking.

I first became aware of Viggo as Lucifer in 1995's The Prophecy with Christopher Walken and Eric Stolz. To this day, I think Viggo's portrayal of Lucifer is the best I've seen. Evil's biggest pull is that on the surface it can look so pleasing. But even pleasing on the surface, there is no moment in the handful of them for which he's on screen in which he isn't utterly frightening.
From The Prophecy there's nearly an entire library of supporting roles that feature Viggo and a growing cache of starring roles from Hidalgo, to A History of Violence, to Eastern Promises. But without doubt it is his role as Aragon in The Lord of the Rings trilogy for which he's best known.
Viggo wasn't the first choice for Aragon, in fact he was a last minute replacement for Stuart Townsend and only took the role because he son loved the trilogy so much. If I knew where to send it, I'd get the boy a gift because he certainly gave fans one with how perfectly Viggo brought Aragon to life.
I could go through many other things from Viggo's poetry, to the fact he's fluent in three languages and conversant in a handful of other, to the tight bonds he formed with the cast of LotR in particular Karl Urban. But I'm out of time. Follow the link love and learn all you care too. Every link on his name leads somewhere different. For now, onto the pictures.
Enjoy.

And not saying he's not totally lickable despite the mud, because I love his look there, but...you know.
