13 Series Xakara's Read/Re-Read This Year

Hey, Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
This is my second edition of the Thursday Thirteen and I've moved from music to books. But I couldn't focus on just one book, oh no, Kittens, we have series waiting below. They are in no particular order save the last one, as I haven't finished it yet.

Beside the name of each series, (be forgiving if I'm slightly off), is the first book in the series, the name of the author, and the number of books currently available. The link on the title of the book leads to Amazon, the one on the author to whatever official site or blog I could find for you. Enjoy.

1. The Hallows/Rachel Morgan Series ~ Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison (5)
2. The Weather Warden Series ~ Ill Wind by Rachel Caine (6)
3. The Odd Thomas Series ~ Odd Thomas by Dean Knootz (3)
4. The Betsy Books ~ Undead and Unwed by MaryJanice Davidson (6)
5. The Blood Books ~ Blood Price/Blood Trail by Tanya Huff (5 books in three volumes)
6. The Tales of Alvin Maker Series ~ Seventh Son by Orson Scott Card (6)
7. The Vampire Huntress Lengend Series ~ Minion by L.A. Banks (9)
8. The Dark Hunter Series ~ Fantasy Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon (11)
9. The Harry Potter Series ~ Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone by JK Rowling (7)
10. The Merry Gentry Series ~ A Kiss of Shadows by Laurell K. Hamilton
11. The Anita Blake Series ~ Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton
12. The Mayfair Witches Saga ~ The Witching Hour by Anne Rice (3)
13. The Dark Tower Series ~ The Dark Tower I: The Gunslinger by Stephen King (7, 4 of which I've finished)

I haven't been able to show the same loyalty to the Vampire Chronicles, but I reread the Mayfair Witches every year to every two. There's something about being caught up in it that always makes me want to write. :)

Thanks for coming by.

I love the Odd Thomas books. If you get the chance check out the audio books. The reader does an awesome job acting Odd.

I've never really gotten into audio books, but Odd Thomas is a series that could prompt me to try it out.

Is there only one set of audios? I know sometimes a book is done by an actor and then by the author (or a better known actor) as a special addition. Do I need to pay close attention when I order it, or should only the version you're talking about come up?

I think it's just the one guy. Not Dean Koontz. I checked mine out from the library, so there wasn't a choice.

Have fun.

I'll check out my local library as soon as I get a chance.

I need to get better acquainted with them anyway. My "To Buy" pile is exceeding my budget and I need to make a second home at the library until I catch up on funds. :)

I wish I had more time to read too. The list only represents a small part of what I'd hoped to get throw by this point in the year.

I still need to read the Dresden series, there are four authors on my To Buy list, and I have alternate Rachel Caine Series to look into. I'm way behind, but having a great time trying to catch up. :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Xakara - There is no info on how to make one that I know of. I'm a spaz at tech stuff. Croco has the best rates. But you can shop around. Most book trailers will say who made them. Look at author sites and see what appeals to you.

Patrizia and I wrote our own scripts. We looked at dozens of book trailers on youtube.come to see what other romance authors did. Then penned our own based on the blurb on the back.

Good luck and thanks for stopping by my site.

Thanks. I've been bookmarking all of those I've come across so that I can make a base of comparison and make notes on what particular parts to pay attention to when I start learning the Movie Maker software.

I'll check out Croco too in case my learning curve isn't what I'd hope. ;)

Out of all the books on your list I think I've only read the HP series (well, the first 6 books anyway), but I might have to check out some of the others. :-)

Lotsa good series in here... I'm in the middle of a bunch of them, myself.

Ya know, if the publishing industry were to stop whining about how few people are reading and would instead publicize some of these great books, they'd sell more.

Glad you survived your edits!

I'm sure fewer people read than the industry would like, but I haven't seen the lack of interests.

Granted, I may have cocooned myself in readers and writers, and simply don't have a grasp of the larger world...No, I'm right. ;)

I've read the first three of Kim Harrison's series (love it) and both of LKH's series. I haven't read The Harlequin yet--it's my reward for when the current novella is finished! Thanks for visiting my blog

The Tales of Alvin Maker don't have any horror elements.

And although it deals with vampires, The Betsy Books are more comedic paranormal romance.

So you might flip through those from the library. :)

Great to meet another HP fan.

Thanks for coming by.

Efficient and organized. I'm going to come back and read this comment on a day when I can't find anything and don't know where to start. LOL

Everything above save The Dark Tower, Mayfair Witches and Alvin Maker, all have books either still coming out this year or that will be out early next year so I'll have more to catch up on soon. Yay.

Thanks for coming by.
