No. No cookie for the naughty author editing during Nano! The point is to just write, and to turn that internal editor off for a month. Send it to the bahamas (or to the park for you since you'll need it when the edits come in for Shifting Passions).

Yeah, just write, I know. I know. Knowin' ain't doing though, but I'm almost past the inclination to edit and have the story perfect. I'd say I'm about three days from just flowing and not looking back as what's already done.....But I can do a lot of damage in three days. I'll try not to.

I know how you feel. I'm tackling my first NaNo and I can't get my brain to stop twirling adverbs, adjectives, names, places, plot twists and POV's. Whew. Need food and sleep! Good luck with yours!
