Tis the Season....

Happy Halloween & Blessed Samhain All!

I'm happy to be back online! We were down for a bit again, but aside from that a lot of things happened that I can't go into--primarily because it's not mine to tell. But regardless of the path it all took, a great many things are looking up.

I am an official, legal, permanent (unless revoked by a court with lawyers and everything) guardian of a teenager. We're stuck with him for another two and a half years minimum. Took him to the doctor's had him checked out. After a bit of kicking the tires, (he got a flu shot), and checking the oil (minor blood labs), it looks like his warranty will hold. According to the consensus on various message boards for adoptive, foster, step and legal guardian parents, I will now promptly become pregnant. As best I can figure it's a combination of pheromones, hormones and the Universe cracking up at the buget juggling over two children rather than one. I guess we'll see.

I've got to work in the morning, but the afternoon and evening will see a group outing. I'm most looking forward to the corn-maze where we'll symbolically wander about the monarch butterfly shaped labrynth, leaving behind the old and emerging at the end reborn and ready to embrace the new year. From there the baccanalia can begin!

I am insanely looking foward to NaNoWriMo. After more months of stress than I can count and much too little productive writing behavior during the time period, it somehow seems like a good idea to dust off that part of my brain with 50k in 30 days....yeah, like childbirth apparently, one forgets the pain between NaNos. Wish me luck.

it is true, one does forget the pain between NaNos, LOL!
Sometimes it is true on the pregnancy front too!

Missed you babe! I'm actually excited about tomorrow and seeing the story unfold over the next month. I've got to build the habit of daily writing back up if I'm ever going to catch up with the list of stories I have laid out.

Sorry I am so late to respond, just bogged down here. Congrats on the 'new-old' kid! I respect you greatly for taking on such a challenge, it is true in the end though that the blessings will outweigh the tough times.
