The first of the month always feels like a clean slate due to all the socialized indoctrination. Sundays, Mondays, and the first of the month are the times to begin again no matter what the project on the table is. Considering how last month started and then ended, I can use some mental rebooting.

That five names I had for the next batch of queries has spontaneously become twenty. I'm not kidding. It was like tribbles, I left them alone and came back and there were more.

I'm going to have to go through them and prioritize the list and break it into four or fives at a time to send off this month. I seem to do most of my sending on Fridays so my goal this week is to have the first five off before Friday night with the next five fully researched and notes made so they can be sent off by next Friday. Two weeks of straight writing and nothing else, and then I'll get onto the next five and however many it has multiplied into by that point.

Pacing seems like a good compromise between stopping or continuing with queries as my focus. This way writing stays the focus while the queries still get out there and possibility and potential brim on the horizon. It's interesting what a sudden lack of stress can do for outlook. I went from just wanting this part over and done with so I knew what my next step was; to regaining my zen-vibe and knowing that it's all about the journey again. Just goes to show that one should properly not be allowed to make major decisions during a pregnancy scale capping off weeks of illness and fatigue.

The only thing I'm not overly looking forward to is the collection of all the notes I've made on book two and putting them in some sort of order. I've been writing scenes as they've come to me without regard to where they actually end up in the story. Now I'm stuck with figuring out where everything goes and then writing the connecting sections to make it a cohesive piece. It's not a bad thing in general, I always write as a scene comes to me, it's just my style. It's just that usually I do it in the ms directly and put the out of order scene in red and write around if necessary. This time I have to go through a bunch of handwritten notes and type them up without a true idea of where to insert them. So far I'm going to end up with a bunch of colorful pages that stand out to let me know each is waiting to be blended into the whole.

Speaking on all that, I need to be off. I have to throw a few more sentences on book two and then have to mess with book one a bit as an edit option came to mind this afternoon. It'll make my vampire concept for the world cohesive and tie up the loose ends I left while still working things out. I need to lay a bit more groundwork so what's revealed in book two works.
