I should be editing...

I should even be enjoying editing...

I've done everything but clean in order to avoid editing...

I don't know why. I was happy when I got up today because I figured out a way to fix an issue I was having at the beginning of the book. I was also happy because I'm at the last half of the book which I really like because you've come to better understand the players and their interactions.

Yet here I sit.

Not a single chapter done.

Burnout? Too many pain meds?  What happened?

*Sigh*

Maybe I'm only now waking up.

Off to read.

I tend to like editing much more than writing because then it's WRITTEN and I'm just revising etc. It seems so much easier - at least, until a CP tells you a certain area you love's not working and you need to suddenly change the whole plot around... Okay, sometimes it's annoying but it can be nice too. And I'm rambling. ...yeah.

I'm right there with you today, I just couldn't eke out anything great on the writing front. Fortunately, there's always tomorrow. :D

That's what I keep telling myself.

"Just put it aside and start fresh tomorrow least I miss something."

Now that you've mentioned tomorrow too, I think I'll go for it and instead of my own stuff, read for one of my CP's.

I feel so much better. I owe you more cookies. :)

Baby - I think enjoying editing is an oxymoron, like military intelligence. It just doesn't happen.

No, really, for real. I'm serious.

I had a great time editing the hardcopy for this half of the book.

If I wanted to, I could just flip through the hard copy and enter in the handwritten notes without having to reread since I just did the hardcopy edit a few days ago. This part should feel relaxing and all coasting downhill.

I'm just unenthused. My groove is off. I haven't had enough music therapy today or something.

I'm trying hard copy edits for the first time, and kind of like them too. I'm by no means done, but my handwriting is so bad I can't let the notes sit too long without forgetting what they say.

Image (http://photobucket.com) I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing at the sheer joy of not being alone. I had the same issue for a long time. I had to get into the habit of slowing down when make notes. And even with that I still have problems sometimes. But hey, as long as I can read enough to remember the gist, I'm okay.

Read something, unwind, get your head clear....and then attack the manuscript! :)

Thank you, Girl. I feel so much better today. I started out with music so was able to set the pace for the day.

Now that I'm home I just gotta get out some replies and then on to "attack of the manuscript". :)
