It's fun again. I'm no longer struggling through the edits.

I got to today's chapters and was pulled in and interested in what was going on rather than worrying about the bit in the first chapters I've decided to change.

YAY!

What? What am I doing here posting if I'm having so much fun editing? I'm figuring out what's for dinner, silly. What else would I be doing?

I'm thinking cheese omelets with hashbrowns or French toast. It's hard to decide at this point. Maybe I should do another chapter first and then go from there. But first, virtual treat.

I'm 70 pages into the 100 I wanted to do today so:

Alrighty, I'm off.

This ramble was brought to you by the letter C.

The letter "C" rules. :D

Glad it's making you happy again. Edits can be fun, although those first initial edits of my stuff sometimes make me cringe. Once you get past that phase though... It's so amazing to read something and realize "Hey, *I* wrote this! And it's GOOD!!"

The lette "C" does rule. Although I admit I'm rather partial toward "D" and "X" as well. Image (http://photobucket.com)

I've been lucky and haven't had something outright cringe-worthy in edits, but I have picked up on speech patterns and severe adverb abuse, for which I've sought counseling.

It's so good to have Image (http://photobucket.com) no longer feel like Image (http://photobucket.com) and to now be more like Image (http://photobucket.com) as I fall into the rhythm of the story and want to know what happens next, rather than "what else needs fixing".

It's a very different mindset, but both accomplish the same things. I'm glad to have my inner reader back and more vocal than my inner critique.

It's funny, I both know and don't know that the stuff I wrote is crap. I simply refuse to read it until I'm done with the book because I don't want my inner editor going crazy. If there's a part later on where I need to add something I can flip through and (hopefully) find the area I need to add to quickly, but I'm wanting to just go straight through to the end. ...of course, that means I actually need to write, which hasn't been happening much lately.

If I could make my fun incarnate as the gender, and body type of preference for you, cover it in oil, and let it come and rub all over you until edits are fun for you too...I would. Really. Image (http://photobucket.com)

And if that visual helps you, all the better. Image (http://photobucket.com)
