Hello Kittens!

Welcome to my 3rd Edition of Thursday Thirteen! (Any among you who saw "3rd Edition" and immediately thought of D&D/D20, you MUST let me know in comments) We've done music, we've done books, and that brings us to television.
For some of us, the shows we choose to give our nights to are very important to us, very personal. For this list I decided not to merely do 13 of my favorites because that only tells you part of the story. So instead, you have the 13 shows on my DVR series record list that say the most about me....Enjoy.

13 Series That Give Insight Into Xakara

The configuration is Show, Channel, and what I feel it tells you....

1. Supernatural ~ The WB ~ This tells you that I have a thing for hot guys chasing down evil minions of hell.

2. Bones ~ Fox ~ I have a crush on this entire cast. This tells you I stalked David Boreanaz to a new show to supplement my lost Angel fix. Seely Booth does very nicely, thank you. It also tells you I have a think for brilliant people with quick minds who are always there for their friends.

3. The 4400 ~ USA ~ Another mass crush cast, not all, but many. This one speaks to the Conspiracy Theorist in me. I mean, come on, people from the future able to snatch up others throughout the timeline and reinsert them at their whim. What's not to love?

4. The Dead Zone ~ USA ~ It was based on a Stephen King novel, that got me to watch the pilot. Anthony Michael Hall kept me coming back. Big time Johnny crush

5. Monk ~ USA ~ This tells you I get through my own issues by watching people with worse issues so I don't have to feel so bad. He makes me grateful for my bit of OCD and how easily I get through life.

6. Criminal Minds ~ CBS ~ Massive Crush Cast. This is another brilliant minds, catching the bad guys, giving the dead a name and dignity, and let's look fine doing it show. For those who watch, I have a near equal character crush on both Agent Morgan and Dr. Reid. What does that tell you? LOL

7. Stargate SG1 ~ Sci-Fi Channel ~ This reveals the fact that I just can't let go. It's been cancelled and I still haven't cleared it off series record. I haven't accepted that I won't get to see Dr. Daniel Jackson again. If had a crush on both SG1 teams, Mitchell never replaced O'Neill but he held his own. (My crush doesn't extend to Sam because she just never saw Daniel's potential. That and I might be holding a grudge that Amanda Tapping got to go to Stargate Atlantis and Michael Shanks didn't at last I heard.)

8. Stargate Atlantis ~ Sci-Fi Channel ~ Yes, I got sucked into the mythos and had to check out the spin-off. I was prepared to dislike the show but was pleasantly surprised once it got its feet under it. Full crew crush, even Rodney grew on me over time. He'd just need to be gagged every now and a again....which he might be into come to think of it. ;)

9. Battlestare Galactica ~ Sci-Fi Channel ~ This says any time you put hot people in space I'll watch (a moment of silence for Firefly). I love the dynamic, the politics, the spiritual aspects and the fact that the cyclons aren't one-dimensional. I'm a little concerned about what the new season brings, but if the multiple shows on two channels didn't clue you in, I'm nothing if not loyal.

10. Eureka ~ Sci-Fi Channel ~ This tells you I watch too damn much of the Sci-Fi Channel. It's also hilarious and let you know if you make me laugh and do it consistantly, I'm yours til they cancel you.

11. Blood Ties ~ Lifetime ~ Blood and Romance and Kyle Schmid as Henry Fitzroy. Need I say more?

12. Burn Notice ~ USA ~ Hot government agent has been blacklisted by individuals unknown and cut off from all his resources. With only two friends in the world, one a former girlfriend and gunrunner and the other a retired agent out of the game, he makes due helping out people in Miami who need his impressive skills while he figures out who burned him. This show is HILARIOUS! And they blow stuff up every few episodes so that there's something for everyone. Jeffery Donovan looks good doing it too.

13. Ugly Betty ~ ABC ~ This tells you about me, what it tells you about everyone who watches this show...everyone loves to root for the underdog.

Criminal Minds is a show that debuted in conflict with other things I watch. I only caught it on a lucky break a season or so in. I'm very grateful to be a regular viewer now. I love the entire cast and you don't get that often enough in a show.

From: [identity profile] samulli.livejournal.com
I'm right there with you on some of them. I just developed a serious BSG addiction, love THE 4400 because Summer Glau is in it, Supernatural is a shoo-in because of the hot guys, and I can totally sympathize about the love for Morgan and Reid on Criminal Minds.
Have never heard of the last 4 on your list. I guess they are not shown yet in Europe.
But the thing I will never ever get is Stargate. I tried, really tried, because some of my friends are big fans. It just doesn't work for me. I always end up thinking: they cancelled Firefly, but boring crap like that gets 10 seasons? Just. Not. Fair. :o(

Well, I would watch most of those shows, only my husband and I got rid of our TV so we would write more (I just spend more time blogging now, haha). I was a big Stargate fan. Have you seen Sanctuary? A Web-based show all done on greenscreen brought to you by some of the creators of Stargate.

www.sanctuaryforall.com

You know, half of these are filmed here in Vancouver, BC, including Supernatural, 4400, and the Stargates. One stop stalking!

How soon can you get here? There is a screening event for the movie "A Dog's Breakfast" written/directed/starred by David Hewlett (Rodney McKay) on Sept 8th with cast member Q&A.

I am a Johnny watcher too! I enjoy the sheriff on Eureka, he keeps me laughing, and certainly root for Betty, as the underdog! I am most looking forward to this fall~ "Moonlight", about a vampire detective, and "New Amsterdam", a detective cursed with immortality. I am hoping these turn out to be great series. Also, as a quirky show..."Pushing Daisies" may be interesting.
