Beyond The Veil Blog Sunday/Vampire Ramble

Hello All, 

I know that I was going to dive back into character crushes today but work smacked me about thoroughly last night and I am on my way there again, so no leisurely rambling crush talks from me until Monday at this rate. I did however have to get out at least one ramble through a beloved obligation and have written up my Beyond The Veil post for Sunday. It's on what draws us to vampiric sex and what it has represented over the years. 

Swing on by and let me know what our favorite nightwalkers bring out in you. Depending on what you all have to say, I might use my next Sunday to explore shapeshifter sex and why we pet the inner beast and have let it out more and more in modern urban fantasy. 

For now, gotta jet. I just love third shift. It's wonderful watching Ghostwhisper and CSI:NY then walking to work in the dark. LOL. I'll check in before work tomorrow night and see what you all had to say. Until...

You already have my thoughts on your piece (today today *ahem*...kidding. Seriously I think I've gotten goofy from sitting here for so long reading a certain revision. I need a break. Definitely) but I'll get over there tonight or tomorrow and comment.

Anyway. I'm feeling good. It was a good but busy day.

Good but busy...everyone was more productive than me. Granted I was ending my day so I guess it doesn't count. ;)

when a vampire character who's lived for several hundred or thousand years says "I love you" to a woman. It's like that he's taken the time to search for and to find a soulmate.

Now you've hit on the crux of the love in the love-affair. The idea that after so long, this one is "the" one.

I might not personally believe in a singular soulmate (I think we have several), but I very easily understand the appeal of this concept. It could be its own post considering how much ground it covers.

Not a problem. I always do stuff even when I'm sick (which is a lot in the Winter, sigh).

Anyway, yeah, I think that people can have several partners that 'fit' them well but IMO, I think that there's only one 'best' fit.

Perhaps we're both right. People have several partners that fit them well, and then some people have only one that's a best fit. While a handfull of others have two or more that are their best fit because of how they and those involved are put together. :)
