Thursday Thirteen 29th Edition
Mar. 5th, 2008 10:24 pmI'm seriously lacking proper sleep this week and I have writing/editing on the brain. With that in mind, I'm going for the simplest solution to a Thursday Thirteen. Yes Lovelies, I'm delivering the goods and handing over 13 Paragraphs From BLOODSPRITE. I'll even provide numbers so you can be sure. *Grin* (It hasn't been through formal edits, so be gentle)
Enjoy.
1. His hands were in fists on either side of my hips and I felt the shudder move along his arms and over his entire body as he responded.
2. “A Gift between us.”
3. And with that my teeth pressed free and found a home in flesh.
4. The Pleasure Cascade was immediate, the suddenness of his arms around me showing his complete surprise as his body was taken to fulfillment with the breaking of skin and then again at the first draught of blood.
5. It built much slower with Vampires, cycling as a swirling current of sensation that was more intense foreplay than orgasmic release. Had I thought to shield his mind and body I could have mimicked that building but he asked not to be denied and so I gave what came naturally.
6. The only part held back from him was the physical spill of essence. With our bodies separated there was no chance for conception and so the release had been fruitless, sparing the millions of seed that would have been wasted. This wasn’t intentional but a matter of instinct as my energy washed through him. With less energy expended by his body, I could keep him in a cycle of release until he passed into unconsciousness. Each one would flavor his blood and give deeper nourishment to every mouthful, sating me on levels the blood alone couldn’t.
7. It was tempting but I didn’t need the concentrated sustenance so I cycled down the Cascade, building and changing it to draw out each burst of release. His hand had come to the back of my head, locking me to him as if it were an entirely different part of him captured by my mouth. He’d also at some point brought me completely off the couch, my legs wrapped around him and his other arm across my back leaving no space between us.
8. A series of body wracking moans and cries reverberated through his chest in a deep skin rippling sonance I felt along my spine. Every note of the ecstatic song made me want more from him. More blood, more pleasure, more surrender of will, it was all one and the same in the moment of him flowing over my tongue and down my throat.
9. I drank deeper pulling his life into me without caution or care. I couldn’t kill him this way, even by accident. The Kind did not kill those we fed from. Blood Ties were sacred and instinct prevented me from ending his life in this manner. He’d have to already be dying for me to Gift Death in such a way, so I heeded no thought to his safety or my own and let the sensations have us both in full.
10. Few things had felt so good in so long.
11. Three years of control. Of taking only what I needed and nothing more. Of avoiding anything that truly mimicked indulgence of any kind as that led places I simply hadn’t been ready or willing to go.
12. Three years, and now cracks in the dam over the last three months threatened a flood of repression freed. There was no way to put the genie back in the bottle.
13. There was no way to prove there’d ever really been a bottle.

Date: 2008-03-07 01:37 am (UTC)Right now it's doing well. I'm not sure how it's selling at the other places it's available but it's #6 on the bestseller list at MBaM (http://www.mybookstoreandmore.com/product_info.php?products_id=876). :)
I'll be able to tell you more after my first statement.
Happy TT

It's a scene between Weylyn Randall, a werewolf musician, and a pixie named Isolde (Sol) Vespera. Sol's best friend Vivienne met Weylyn, thought he'd be fun for Sol, and gave her his cell number. Sol got mad (over a man), got drunk, and called Weylyn, who was hanging out with some friends at a club. That's where this post starts. Hope you like it!
