And it really is the world. I watched CNN and saw the other celebrations. I'm so proud of how unified we've become globally after such a potentially dividing campaign year.
This isn't just a victory for America or African-Americans, but for everyone who ever wanted to truly believe they could achieve what they set their mind to.
I'm so proud of how my country stepped up for change and hope.
This is the fulfillment of the promise "you can be anything you want to be" that I was raised with. And now everyone can believe in that promise. What a beautiful day for the children in my life and the children to come!
We don't have tv yet or internet, so my daughter called and held the phone up to her tv so we could listen. I can't even describe all the feelings I had. I teared up several times. What an amazing and historic moment. Vix http://vixensden.com
Perhaps it's just the way it was taught in my school, but I have to admit there was never the feeling that I would be part of any historic event to rival what was in those books. And now, today, I stand as part of an event that will reshape America and how America sees herself. It's extraordinary!

(And it's so good to know I wasn't crying alone!)
