Crush of the Week
Sep. 7th, 2007 07:42 pmIt is once again time for Friday's Crush of the Week, and I find myself thankful that I planned out the crushes, with alternates for given moods, throughout September. This last week went fast and I was caught rather off-guard to see Friday looming so large. Then there was also the sway of Vampire conversations that left me needing to pick someone whose played a vampire. I happily found one I loved as a vampire and like muchly in his latest non-vampire role of an FBI agent.
Yes, Kittens, this Friday's Crush of the Week is David Boreanaz.
As always, what does it for one, doesn't for another, so proceed ahead if you're open, or swing by later when something more to your tastes comes about.

David was first known to most of us as Angel, the 270 yr old vampire that comes into the title characters life in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. His romance subplot with Buffy, played by Sarah Michelle Geller, was an aspect of the show that captured female audiences when the actions scenes didn't. The relationship and character were so popular that it spawned the spin-off Angel the Series. After five more years as Angel, David and the rest of the cast went out in a blaze of glory at the series finale and went on to other projects.
In 2005, David returned to the small screen as FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth in the one hour drama Bones. If you read my Thursday Thirteen blog on televison series, you already know that I love the entire cast of this show and I'm thrilled David found another vehicle to showcase his talents.
I have to admit that I'm not big on the broody vampire image, and Angel was not a favorite character at first. It was Angelus that pulled me in, or rather, seeing the difference in Angel and Angelus that brought my crush on David. It was also seeing Angelus that made Angel's brooding seem appropriate and so I gave up my anti-broody policy and let Angel take me in.
The crush on David, is not a celebrity crush. Strange as it sounds, it's more the type of crush you have on someone else's older brother. He's just too damn goofy to inspire fangirl reaction in me. He's more personable and approachable seeming than that.
But enough about me. Onto the pictures. Enjoy.
You know I like a man who cleans up well

Intense David/Angel

Broody Homage

And heh, I couldn't resist using this icon, even if the caption is actually Cordie speaking of Doyle and not Angel.
