Crush of the Week
Sep. 28th, 2007 10:37 pmI know you've waited all week's Kittens and here we are again at another Friday and another big reveal. I was thrown off schedule yet again by whim and circumstance. And as will often be the case, I was wholly influenced by a character I'm writing and who has been cast in my head. So instead of the strapping good looks of Jason Momoa from Stargate Atlantis, we shall be taking a softer stroll through loveliness with the very pretty, very versatile, Hugh Dancy.
Stargate fans swing back by next week...maybe. If not, the mood will strike eventually and JM will be back on the roster. All others come on in and lets have a look at yet another Hugh on the list and see where the ramble takes me.
Hugh first came to my attention in the 2003 film, The Sleeping Dictionary with Jessica Alba. In the film, Englishman John Truscott, finds himself confronted by unfamiliar customs that challenge his perceptions as he attempts to "civilize" the Iban people of Sarawak, Malaysia. The title refers to the custom of Iban women sleeping with English colonists to help them learn the language faster and thus speed the rate of colonization. Although the movie isn't 100% historically accurate, the custom did exist and Malaysia has many prominent Eurasians that attest to the practice.
He was next widely seen in 2004 in Ella Enchanted with Anne Hathaway, and King Arthur with Clive Owen and Ioan Gruffudd where he played Galahad. This year sees him in not one, or two but FOUR films, the two stand outs being, Blood and Chocolate and The Jane Austin Book Club, which you really should see when it opens October 5th, by everything good being said about it.
I can't tell you about the character(s) Hugh has been cast as in my head because I'm trying not to work on any of those projects just now and it's killing me. I swear, it's just killing me, but I'm dealing. *grin* Let's just say for one of them, his role as Galahad works well with something else I'm doing. (And anyone who figures it out from comments on the website or from things I've said in the past will have first crack at beta reading the project and satisifying their curiosity).
Okay, now I want to talk about them so I need to move on to pictures. Enjoy.
Poet Suave

Cutey Pie

Serious Actor Headshot

Pretty Enough To Be A Girl or Feminine British Suave

And "Dirty Can Be Sexy" Gallant Knight Pic

My other two fave pics won't load (*pouty face*), but these are enough to give you an idea of Hugh and to help you recognize him if you've seen him before or see him in the near future. :)

Yeah, but I'm not going there. Besides, you can't win beta priviledges, you've already been drafted long term.
