Crush of the Week

Hello Lovelies, 

Sorry to say, but I'm under the weather and don't have the time I usually do to share for one of these. I slept as long as medication would afford me and now it's off to work the vampire shift for the weekend. In honor of the shift and heavily influenced by the 5 am Angel episodes I've been watching on my days off, this Friday's Crush of the Week is James Marsters. 

Best known as Spike from his days--or nights rather--on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the series, James made evil look hot and redemption seemed worth the effort. After Angel, he had a run on Smallville and recent guest starring roles in Saving Grace and Without a Trace. For his completed work and upcoming 2008 mini-series please check out his IMDB page. Sorry this is so short but I have to go.

Thanks for the healing vibes, I still need them today as now my throat feels "not nice" and I have to work an extra day just when I needed to work one less to help recover.

It's alright though, Tuesday will be my day of sleeping twenty blissful, medicated hours and absorbing all the vitamin c in half mile radius. *nod*

If your germs came through the screen, I'm even more worried about you than before. That was some powerful sickness! I'll wipe mine down with disenfectant the next time I hear you're feeling down. :)

Although, freakily enough, I've noticed the gradual ovulation pattern change with female friends I talk to alot on line. Cyber-pheromones? If so, could cyber-germs not be far behind? lol

well, ovulation is part of brain functioning and when you talk with someone, you're um, tapping into their brain so to speak. So, I dunno, those are my thoughts.

He started out as a character crush for me being solely about Spike. Later it became an actor crush after seeing his versatility and hearing how nice he is to fans in person. I'm always a push-over for someone who makes their fans feel appreciated. :)

My wife used to like that Buffy show and tried to introduce me to it when we got married but I never could get into it. I watched 3 or 4 but never had the remotest idea what was happening. I guess I prefer my vampires from the traditional Hammer Horror school.

The vampire as monster vs. the vampire as sympathetic character...I'm on the sympathetic character side every time.

I grew up with the monster aspect and I guess I wanted more. Having that in the current slew of vampire characterizations fits better with me. I think it's an internal combining of all the sympathetic non-human characters from the fantasy I grew up reading, and my love of the vampire mythos. It makes urban fantasy the perfect genre.
