Transcribing Update
Nov. 7th, 2007 09:28 pmHello Lovelies,
I'm having editing issues as I transcribe. Considering that writing longhand is slowing me down as it is, I think I should have the temptation to edit out of my head by the end of the coming weekend.
I'm not too terribly behind. So far I'm at just over 6k and if I can stop cutting stuff I should make it to about 8k, putting me four thousand under goal for this far into NaNo. If that estimation is right I'm doing darn well for writing longhand (and tossing bits willy nilly). I'll up my daily goal 2250 to catch up on that four thousand I'm behind without having to stress too much over it.
I like where the story is going but there's the temptation to switch to another one that came to mind. Since I'd still have to finish The Forgiven regardless, it's easier to resist the temptation to start from scratch and put Forgiven for another time. I think the temptation came up because the other story would be finished at about 65k so I'd be almost done by the time NaNo is over. The Forgiven on the other hand will likely come in at about 100K if not 110K so I know how much will be left to go after NaNo. Again though, more reason not to stop now.
I've changed from 3rd to 1st, back to 3rd and finally ended at two separate 1st person narratives. One voice is current while the other is angelic interlude of the time before, so it works thus far. If it stops working, hey, I'll just change it again. I mean, why not right? At this point anything goes.
Okay, time to stop to stalling and get back to the transcription so I can pick up the writing and not fall further behind. I've got Thursday Thirteen to do later which will be distraction enough.
Catch up with you in the not too long.

POV has been my personal hurdle. First or third, first or third, first or third. Drive myself crazy.
Anyway.
Have some more ((ALL PURPOSE VIBES)) for all your ills and good writing.
