Thriving Under Pressure

It's always easier when it's about the writing.

In typical personal fashion I've gone from not wanting to write to four deadlines that I then promptly expanded to seven. Yes, seven.

In addition to those 2/21, 4/1, and 6/1 (twice over) deadlines I now have a third due June 1st and more importantly a March 2nd and March 3oth deadline to add to everything. With the work on book two as well, I'm looking at cranking out roughly 250k words in the next 15 weeks on the eight different projects.

I haven't felt this calm and yet energized in weeks.

Once I send off my snail-mail queries I'm done with anything that isn't writing until after April. Although with three things due by June 1st, I might in fact not get back to the agent/editor hunt until this summer. I guess it'll depend on how quickly I get done.

Woo-Hoo! Nothing but writing and reading for three and half months. I remember those days. It's good to have them back.

It's just in time too. My favorite authors have some things coming out from Feb. to June I'll be able to pick up. And I have some newly discovered authors to pick up and learn about from having come across them here and on LJ.

Lots of wonderful writing to do and lots more to read and be inspired by. Can't beat it with a stick. Well, you could but that would be assault and who wants to be entangled with that?

Anyway, off to the races. I've got errands to run in the morning, sample chapters to print out in the afternoon, and stories to work on tomorrow night. It's a full day and only the first among many.
