Greetings Kittens,

I'm not at my best today. In fact I'm only out of bed right now because I have a guest blog over at Samhain Publishing that goes live at 3pm central (at least I hope it's central) and I'm figuring out the setup to put that in place.

Since I know some of you stop here each Thursday regardless of whether I'm posted at the TT site, I thought I'd at least put up something small so you'd know I'm not off in a coma somewhere. In honor of not quite being well, I'll offer up 13 Things To Do While Feeling Like Crap.

13 Things To Do While Feeling Craptastic

1. Sleep ~ Rest is everything. But if you have insomnia along with other issues, then those things below will also help.

2. Read ~ You will understand the humor in this one if you read my post at Samhain this afternoon, but reading is one of my favorite things to do when I get the chance.

3. Bubble Wrap Therapy ~ This worked very well. We got a package yesterday and the large bubble wrap sheet provided great joy and purging of frustration.

4. Eat ~ Chocolate boost seratonin. Nuff said.

5. Marathon Television Watching ~ Nothing like cruising the In Demand channels and watching the entire first season of something just because. This is also the time to break out the DVDs of series you love or movies you haven't gotten around to in a while.

6. Dance ~ If you're body will let you, dancing can turn around nearly any mood and everything just seems less important while getting your groove on.

7. Make Playlists ~ If your body won't let you dance, the music alone can be a catalyst to feeling more like yourself while your system works out the bugs. (Did anyone else get a horror movie flash all of a sudden?)

8. Meditation ~ Assuming you're not feverish and therefore prone to hallucinating rather than meditating (which hey, I'm not knocking hallucinating, it made pneumonia very interesting years back), meditation can offer the rest and sense of peace necessary to healing quickly.

9. Write ~ Nothing like exploring the darkside illness can bring out. But don't edit, you'll regret going near it when well if you edit.

10. Call your mom or maternal-like figure ~ I don't do this one in particular. My grandmother will answer the phone and then get all worried when she finds out I'm less than stellar. Her worry makes me worry and then there's just this giant ball of gelatous anxiety blobbing about. Not helpful. But if it works for you, by all means call.

11. Whine ~ A five to fifteen minute pity party can do wonders. But it must be timed and must be done and over when that time elapses. Otherwise it's not productive.

12. Blog Hop ~ If you can stand to sit in a chair long enough, this is the perfect time to catch up on all the blogs you know you should be reading regularly but aren't. Of course I'm unwell in a way that makes sitting here less than comfortable, but hey can't win them all.

13. Be Grateful ~ Everything is a lesson and taking the time to be grateful in the midst of a craptastic mess means coming away from it with more than just lost time. And anyway, fields of crap fertilize some of the most beautiful flowers, so many a worthwhile thing emerges from the ugliest of circumstances.

Off to hit a few blogs while I can...

Watching endless hours of mindless tv usually works for me.

Sorry to hear you're sick, and get better quickly.

Well, I'm always glad when you hit me. Or my blog. Or both of us, so long as you don't leave bruises.

Feel better FAST. That's an order!

Gosh, I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. I can't tell if you are ill or tired or heart sick. Anyway, I hope the sun shines in your heart today.

Numbers one and five are about the only thing that got me through Monday and Tuesday. Thank gods I had Battlestar to watch to distract me.

You, crapastic? never! I can't imagine you being anything but lovely.

But if you are, I vote for reading and writing.

One of the only good things about being sick is the ability to vegetate on the couch/in the bed with the remote and watch Turner Classic Movies, TV Land, or a movie on DVD. If you haven't recovered since writing this T13, I hope you are on your way to doing so.
